In 1963 Roy Orbison toured the UK with great local bands The Beatles and Gerry & The Pacemakers as his special guests. In February of 1964, with Roy Orbison already a huge star, The Beatles burst onto the scene in the US. Roy and The Beatles, particularly George Harrison, would enjoy lifelong friendships.
