ROY ORBISON’S “DOWN THE LINE (GO!GO!GO!)” BY CLIFF RICHARD IN 1960. LIVE VIDEO!

“DOWN THE LINE (GO! GO! GO!)” by Cliff Richard in 1960.

From 1960. The backing band are the pioneering instrumental musicians, The Shadows. Top tier rock and roll guitarist Hank Marvin with Bruce Welch, Tony Meehan and Jet Harris.

(about the song title: Roy Orbison named the song “DOWN THE LINE”. Sam Phillips changed the title to “GO! GO! GO!” for the Roy’s Sun release so he could work himself in on Roy’s publishing. When Roy talked about the song he always said “Down The Line” except when referring specifically to the Sun Records single. Check Black and White Night Concert or any other time and you will see the song’s title was “Down The Line.” We hope this clears the issue up. The only person to call the song “Go! Go! Go!” was Sam Phillips. “DOWN THE LINE” by the many 1950’s artists who did the song was a hit from 1956 written and played by Roy Orbison and his best friend from high school, drummer Billy Pat Ellis. They called it what Roy called it, which is “DOWN THE LINE.”)
