This is a picture of Roy Orbison with his mother, Nadine Shults Orbison.

Nadine Orbison was born July 24, 1915 in Texas. She died May 13, 1992 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
She was a nurse and raised 3 children: Grady Orbison (Roy’s older brother), Roy Orbison, Samuel Orbison (Roy’s younger brother).

Among her hobbies were painting (rural American type landscapes; barns in fields, etc.) and reading (she read a book a day and Louis L’Amour western novels were her favorite).
Roy Orbison inherited his emotional sensitivity and love of writing from Nadine.
