The Batley Variety Club

After 49 years, the Batley Variety Club in West Yorkshire will close.

Roy Orbison, Louis Armstrong, the BeeGees, and countless other artists have played the venue over the years.  Roy Orbison even turned the club into a makeshift recording studio to capture the live sound he wanted for his 1970 MGM Years album THE BIG O.

Maggie Finch, President of the UK Fan Club at the time, gives Roy Orbison a gift from the fans at the Batley Variety Club.
