“ROCKHOUSE/YOU’RE MY BABY” by Roy Orbison
Sun Records Single #251 was released this week in 1956-
by admin
This 7″ Vinyl single was made possible by Third Man Records and SUN Studios!
Featuring “You’re My Baby,” a song written by Johnny Cash and “Rockhouse,” a song written by Roy Orbison & Harold Jenkins (AKA Conway Twitty).
Most likely recorded in June of 1956, “Rockhouse” is a prime example of quintessential, undiluted rockabilly. While Roy and the Teen Kings’ stint with Sun would be brief, the sheer power unleashed on these tracks is palpable.

“Cry Softly Lonely One/Pistolero” Single
The UK counterpart to MGM during Roy Orbison’s #MGMYears was London-Decca. Here is a photo of the 7″ single from London Records for “Cry Softly Lonely One” and “Pistolero.” These two could be considered a funny pairing, as they appeared on different albums- CRY SOFTLY LONELY ONE & THE FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE SOUNDTRACK.
