MERCY!   RoyOrbison.com announces new Live and Bootleg label

Nashville, TN – MERCY!  On April 23, 2013, the 77^th anniversary of the birth of Roy Orbison, RoyOrbison.com will launch MERCY!, a new live and bootleg recording label available exclusively via RoyOrbison.com (click on MERCY!) or our new direct link at RoyOrbisonLive.com.  Our first release will be the long sought after Roy Orbison: Live at the Reseda Country Club.  MERCY! was created as an outlet to release an ongoing series of hard-to-find or previously impossible-to-find shows – in each case carefully remixed and mastered.   The shows span The Big O’s full recording and performing career – MERCY!   Many more will follow this Live at Reseda release – go to RoyOrbisonLive.com for an evolving list of upcoming live and bootleg releases.

 

While lo-fi recordings of the Live at Reseda show have been traded in the past by hard-core collectors, this fan favorite 1981 concert has never been heard in its newly remixed and mastered format now available for the first time as a sanctioned release.

 

Opened in 1980, the Reseda Country Club was originally intended to be just that – a club that hosted country music shows.  Throughout its storied past, however, the Reseda Country Club became much more.  The Reseda Country Club hosted events ranging from B.B. King to Slayer concerts, music video shoots with Mick Jagger, and, historically, U2’s Los Angeles debut performance (mere weeks before this very Roy Orbison show was recorded).  Though two of the tracks from this concert were previously included as bonus cuts on Roy’s Greatest Hits DVD and some hardcore fans may have gotten hold of this show through underground trading, this is the first ‘legitimate’ chance for fans to enjoy this fantastic show in fully remixed and mastered form.

 

As a live recording, this show may not have the crystal clear quality of a studio recording or state-of-the-art recorded live show, but MERCY! that’s the idea.   RoyOrbisonLive.com will bring you a series of electrifying recordings: pure, unadulterated Roy Orbison vocals in raw straight-ahead performances that will be fully appreciated by true Orbison aficionados.
