Country Star George Jones has passed away this morning.
Both legendary in their own right, Roy and George crossed paths on several occasions. In fact, George Jones was one of many celebrities to sign the petition to help Roy Orbison get his stamp through the United States Postal Service. Thanks to the support of George and others Roy’s stamp was approved and will be coming soon!
George and Roy both played the very first Farm Aid in 1985- an event organized by mutual friends Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp. Here is George Jones’ performance from that show.
God bless George Jones!
