Here’s a Spanish ditty from The Fastest Guitar Alive, “Pistolero!”
“THE FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE” (1967)
This was Roy Orbison’s only feature film role – as Johnny Banner, owner of a guitar that can twang a chord and riff bullets. Roy’s character poses a purveyor of a Snake Oil Elixir to pass off the fact that he’s a Confederate spy out to nab a major cure-all for depleted rebel coffers: $150,000 in gold from the San Francisco mint. The tale frames seven tunes featuring Roy’s signature voice and guitar playing.
Watch where you point that six-stringer, Roy! Here’s the original movie trailer.
